Clients, projects, testimonials
I've been around long enough to know you're really only interested in what I've been up to lately, so that's what I'm showcasing here.
I have a gigabyte (or two) of work samples, so if you prefer something in particular, contact me and I will email you a project-specific folio, a list of brands I've worked on, clients I've collaborated with, websites I've written and/or referee details.
For now: here are a few of my favourite things:
This is where I do my best work! This professional team of brand builders is a delight to collaborate with … they always have challenging and creative projects on the go. Through DDG I get exposure to national brands, savvy clients and enviable projects including ActivLife's re-brand, Sodexo Australia’s website and newsletters, the City of Kingston’s language development, Evocom’s website and brochure, Prestige Park’s website, and promotional campaigns for Cemex, Rapidcrete, Business Biotics Group, EB Organics and more. Check out the case studies on the DDG website for more details of these projects and what the clients have to say. (By the way, I authored the case studies, too.)
A public website that delivers key messages and loads of info in an intelligent but non-academic voice. Collaborated with DDG and the GGS marketing professionals to develop the language style, site content and a communication hierarchy which reduces copious, repetitive pages down to a concise, manageable and readable information offering.
“Just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for your valuable input to this exciting project – we could not have got where we are without you and the support of DDG. Thanks for your perseverance, patience and skilful writing/editing skills – we will definitely be recommending you to those who need an amazing web copywriter!” Meg Law, Marketing and Communications Manager
What a find! These SEO-focussed web design experts are in my own backyard, just a few minutes walk away. Thanks to their specialist coaching I have learnt a bucketload about SEO copywriting (from meta tags to keyword densities and beyond). It's early days, but already we've worked together on several SME websites including Plumbworx Bendigo, JDDB Builders, Hybrideck, Presspoint Wine Labels, Point Lonsdale School of Surfing and Geelong Property Group.
With a core group of clients in the tourism industry, GSDM has briefed me in on several projects requiring persuasive, aspirational content - one of my favourite creative challenges. Recent projects include editorial content for Victoria's Cultural Guide 2011-2012, Great Southern Touring Route Map, Victorian Caravan Cabin and Camping Guide 2012.
"I did want to compliment you on the copy as I think it is really well written and captures the spirit of each of the regions." Tourism Victoria
This progressive, multi-division Melbourne construction firm initially engaged me to help develop content for their updated corporate brochure and website - all achieved via email and phone communication. We have since collaborated on magazine and online editorial, internal newsletters and project profiles. Check out the most recent profiles for the Rainbow Restaurant, Victorian Electoral Commission Headquarters, Monash University HR Division and School of Architecture, the Dandenong Education Precinct and the Lilydale Community Mausoleum. Brief ... but descriptive and capability-rich.
I love this on-going gig! Thirty articles a year profiling various towns/locations around Australia, plus feature articles for Landmark’s national property magazine. Some serious office-chair travelling for me. The magazine work led on to some impressive special projects including writing the promotional collateral for the Foster’s Group’s divestment of much of their winery holdings – more than 30 detailed commercial property brochures.
Annual Reports with heart! Collaborated with ace photographer Lis Bevan to create annual reports (three years running) truly based on values and mission (not numbers and compliance). The first, a large format calendar exudes heart, soul and maximum keep-ability.
“Our first task together and what a great one. Thank-you for your ‘words’. You were able to capture the very essence of MACS, a special gift you have and how lucky we are to have you working for us. I look forward to further developing our relationship.” Joy Leggo, CEO
Under the direction of Allison Murphy, this (almost) all-girl PR team transports me into the intriguing realm of public affairs, media messaging, regional submissions and e-bulletins. It’s always a mad mix of academia, politics, lobbying and damned fine conversation!
